Andrew McManus  BA(L'pool), Dip Arch(Queens) ARB resistered RIBA chartered architect.

Andrew received his post-graduate architectural education at queen's university, Belfast and obtained his degree in architecture at the University of Liverpool. He now lives at home in Armagh where he has undertaken a number of commissions, both privately and for the local council. Each commission he does is completely original and designed specifically to meet the requirements of the client.

The company BROKEN GLASS DESIGN has been a labour of love for Andrew. It has given him an opportunity to continue indulging in his more creative artistic side and has kept alive his passion for local mythology and the craft of 'real celtic design.'

'I love the therapeutic aspect of painting on glass. At the moment I have a particular interest in exploring the contemporary potential of Celtic knotworks. I feel there can be a lot of energy in the curvaceous flow and tangle of an unbroken line, the way it can weave in and out, under and over, and never end. These aspects appeal to me. I like working with the flow of colour, from red to yellow and to green and on through the spectrum, echoing the changing colours of the day and the seasons. The way that light illuminates the colours and brings them to life can have an uplifting effect on the spirit. These are things that l find interesting in this work. I simply enjoy painting and the escapism that it allows. I guess that's why I do it!'
