4-GLASS & POETRY.
GLASS.
Hi again. So now the image is on the pane of glass. I had placed the printout of the design under the glass. The fact that glass is transparent means that the design can simply be traced onto the glass. As I am left-handed I worked from the right-hand side of the image across to the left to prevent me from smudging the outliner. If you work slowly and focus on the movement of your hand, this stage is the easy bit. It can be a bit difficult to keep an even flow of outliner, but with a bit of practise you can control the amount of pressure you apply and change the thickness of the line at will.
So here is the image on glass.
I bought the local art shop's entire supply of outliner....again. When i've done images for cards before, I always write a short poem to put on the back to try to capture the spirit of the image. I think that every image can tell a story and that a few short words can help to add a bit of depth and bring a picture to life. When I was putting the outliner onto the glass I started thinking about this. I'm no poet but I thought that if the faeries had come to look over the baby, one of them might say something to her, like this: "little folk to you we seem, We'll watch on you by night & day, But if you need us do not fear, Right,The next stage is to go around all of the outliner with a scalpel to refine the black lines. And then I'll paint the colours onto the glass. Thanks again,
POETRY.
We heard you call us in a dream,
We've travelled far to come to you,
But now we know what we must do.
And by your side we'll always stay.
When you grow up you might forget,
The little folk you once had met.
We never left, we were always
here."
