Dia de los Muertos Vase

Here is a vase that I was commissioned to paint for a wedding present.

The wedding couple have a fondness for the Mexican festival Dia de los Muertos -

THE DAY OF THE DEAD!

During the festival people wear wooden skull masks, eat colourful sugar skulls and dance in honor of their deceased relatives. The festival is celebrated throughout Mexico and in parts of the US such as Arizona.

The person who commissioned the piece, Jill
recently moved from Arizona to N.Ireland & therefore wanted the vase to have a Celtic/Irish aspect as well as a motif to represent the 'Day of the Dead.'

I decided to intertwine a sugar skull with a Celtic knotwork
So a little bit of Celtic/Aztec fusion took place.....for the first time ever....maybe!

PHOTOFRAMES.

I've started doing handpainted photoframes. This is the first frame design i've done but I've sketched a few more more designs that can will be used to create a range of frames in a variety of sizes.

The dimensions of these are 15cms x 20cm but I can do them any size.
If anyone is interested in buying any just sent me a message.
