November 2006Dia de los Muertos Vase Here is a vase that I was commissioned to paint for a wedding present. The wedding couple have a fondness for the Mexican festival Dia de los Muertos - THE DAY OF THE DEAD! During the festival people wear wooden skull masks, eat colourful sugar skulls and dance in honor of their deceased relatives. The festival is celebrated throughout Mexico and in parts of the US such as Arizona. The person who commissioned the piece, Jill I decided to intertwine a sugar skull with a Celtic knotwork |
