1-Preliminary Design
Hi,
I'm currently designing a picture which will be used on a professionally printed greeting card which will be sold to raise funds for the children's leukemia ward in Great Ormond St hospital in London. All of the proceeds will go towards this cause. I have a 6 month old relative who is being treated there at the moment.
I am blogging about this for 2 reasons. Firstly to gain people's interest before it's finished (because I want people to buy them!), and secondly to give me a bit of pressure to actually get it painted. Hopefully I'll get it done so it'll be of some use for this Christmas. So it'll have to be quick.
This picture will be a combination of my own design work and that of Marchella of 'Gossamer Glen' who has kindly given me permission to use her beautiful designs in this piece (see her link on my profile).
I'll post more blogs like this as the picture develops. Here is my rough progress so far:
1.
I decided to start by sketching from a photo of my little relative and her sister.
2.
I decided to surround them with little faeries and imps that would look after her. There is only one place to go for faeries and imps - of I went to Gossamer Glen. (Thanks Marchella). So I started scribbling....
3.
I decided to frame them all in a big heart. So I scribbled a bit more........
4.
I decided to frame the heart in a bit of celtic knotwork. So I scribbled a bit more....

5.
The next stage will be to refine the design (because it's very rough) and then start thinking more about colour.
If anyone thinks they may be interested in buying one of these cards if & when this picture is finished (regardless of where you live), please let me know. I'll be setting up a paypal account for this.
Thanks,
Andy.
